The Cost of Too Much Technology

Tool sprawl rarely shows up as one big number. It shows up as slowness.

Most enterprises can list their licences. Far fewer can explain what each tool changed. The visible cost is subscription spend; the real cost is integration surface, fragmented data, duplicated capability and the meetings required to keep it all aligned.

A rationalisation exercise is not about austerity. It is about restoring pace. Fewer, better-owned platforms mean faster decisions and cleaner data, which is precisely what any AI ambition depends on.

Start with what earns: map every tool to a commercial outcome and an owner. Anything without both is a candidate for removal.
